endpoint server working with SAVCE clients?

Hi all,
My company is now using antivirus (corporate edition) 10.x (both clients and server), and is now considering to upgrade the server to endpoint.
Is it possible to use server with endpoint protection to manage computers with SAVCE 10.x?
I've been looking around many docs and haven't found anything useful...

No; its not possible.
SEP can only manage SEP; and vice versa.
only reporting component is supported thats it.

No. You must use Symantec System Center to manage legacy Symantec AntiVirus clients and servers. For example, if you have Netware servers running Symantec AntiVirus, you should group these servers into a server group and use Symantec System Center to manage them. Symantec Endpoint Protection does support forwarding reporting data from Symantec AntiVirus to Symantec Endpoint Protection. This feature lets you view all data from one console.

i have one more question: is it possible to have both SEP & SAVCE managers installed on the same server?

Hi Accheang,

It is possible to have both a SEPM (SEP management component) and SSC (SAV management component) installed on the same physical server.  I would not recommend that for long-term use, though, just while transitioning from SAV to SEP.

One caveat, however;  you cannot install the SEP client on a system with the v.10 SSC installed.  Installation will fail.
