  • 1.  Application Inventory - Discovery Process

    Hello everyone,

    I am in discovery process, I need to prepare application inventory/lists.  Please help me, How to capture this using SEP?

    Note: Once I craete applications list used in my orgnization, I will be able to know what type of exceptions I need to create.

    However, this doesn't really assist much in adding exceptions. Exceptions are added if the detection technologies make a detection on one of them. The purpose of learned applications is more for knowing what is on your network as well as creating application firewall rules.

    If you're just doing application inventory, it's generally better to use a product such as Altiris or SCCM or another third party asset management product.

    You need to use SCCM to get the software or Hardware inventory from client machine, SEP is an AV it does not collect any inventory by default.
