Symantec doesnt work on this version of Windows

Got a new set of workstations released on 2018 (Windows 10) and tried to install Symantec 12 on it (after running Windows update) but got the error : This app cant run on this PC. Symantec Endpoint Protection doesn't work on this version of Windows. An updated app may be available.

The solution:

Uninstall the Windows update KB4088776 ,

Then try installation again. After the install, you can reinstall the update again.

Secondly, why not migrate to the Latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.

I am also having this problem.  We have 2 windows 10 PC's that are getting this message when trying to install version 14.  I would love some guidance on this if possible.  

 

Please note we do have 2 other pc's that installed fine.  Windows update maybe?

I know the post is for version 12, but I wanted to share this info. We are using Version 14.0.2349.0100. After some windows updates installed, we were unable to install symmantec.  Saying, this app wont run on windows 10. We were previously installing, using the single executable file method. We then created a new installation package, but not the single file method.. The new package would show all installalation files, as if you inserted a CD.. In this folder, if you run the Windows Installer Package file (Sep64.msi), the installation would go through as desired. The management server recognized the installation once completed. Hope this helps a few of you in need. :)

We had a batch after this where before I "Check for Updates" I went to the "Advanced Options" in Windows Update

-Choose When Updates are Installed

>Choose "Semi Annual Channell (Targeted)"

A feature update includes new capabilites and improvements. It can be deferred for this many days:

>Set to "365" days

A quality update includes security improvements. It can be deferred for this many days:

>Set to "30"

 

After that I was able to install Endpoint protection DESPITE of the updates.

I've installed SEP 12.1.25 on Windows 10 by disabling Windows Defender. Now i'm not able to Push definition from SEPM and SEP console is not working in Win10.

Kindly help me out to fix the issue.

 

i'm not able to find patch file for this version.
