Hi.
Wanted to post on Florence's one (same topic) but it was closed.
Using SAVCE 8.0 (gold license from our provider) updated to SAVCE 9.1
Noticed some time ago that the real time protection wasn't working and realised that virus definitions was no longer available for that product.
On 90% of the windows xp clients sp1,2 and 3, (running both v8 and v9.1, some autonomous, some managed by 3 servers running v9), rtvscan service is running but no file is analysed altough they should be (by configuration on the clients.). I have no warning in the tray bar, just a message in the event viewer saying that the engine failed to charge the virus definition.
On all the three windows 2000 sp3 servers running v9.1, the realtime protection is working fine, so my immediate action has been to configure windows xp clients temp files to be a folder on the servers, so threats (at least the ones in the clients temp files...) are detected on the servers now.
On the 10% windows xp clients remaining where the realtime protection is working, they are SAVCE 8.0, and xp sp2 maximum. I even don't understand why these ones are working well :), virus definitions are from nov 10, 2010 by liveupdate.
We plan to upgrade our entire configuration, but it will not be before 2nd quarter 2011, so here are my concerns.
1) Is there a way to make realtime protection work on my clients with current virus definitions ?
2) If not, is there a way to retrieve the last version of the updater that will work with my SAVCE versions v8 and v9.1 (I guess the one for april 2009 will work until I upgrade my material here)
Thank you for your support.
