  • 1.  Symantec Antivirus 9 install on non OS drive

    Hi,

    I want to install symantec antivirus client on a seperate partition. The OS is installed on the C drive and the partition is to small to fit symantec antivirus on. so I want to instal it on the other partition but it automatically installs on the C drive. How can I change this?

    Below are the steps to install SAV 9.0 on other partition
    -- Double click on the icon “setup.exe” Click Nex”.
    -- Click on the option “I accept the terms in the license agreement” Click Next.
    -- Click on the option “Client Install” and Click Next
    -- Click on the option “Custom” and Click Next
         -- By selecting Customer you gets option to select the features that you want to install and where it will be installed
    -- Click on the option “Unmanaged” and Click Next
    -- Click on the checkbox “Auto-Protect” and Check the checkbox “Run LiveUpdate” and Click Next
    -- Click on the button “Install”
    -- Click on the button “Finish”

    Follow the steps below to change the Install directory while Installing SEP

    In STEP 10 Click on Chnage and then you can select the diffrent drive to install SAV 9.0

    Hi,

    I'd like to remember that SAV 9 is not supported anymore, it means that it is too old and does not offer a good protection. Move to SAV 10.
    If you can't do it because you still have Windows 98, it is not supported anymore as well, so replace the PC.
    If you still work with this old stuff, be aware of the potential security issues you could face in the future.

    Seeing that we are using windows NT I had to use 9. That worked like a charm. Thanks

    I think you know that Windows NT is dead as well and now it just represents a security hole in your network.
