symantec thin client License

we are running Windows Server Remote Desktop Services.

Below are the environment :

1. 1 x RDS Server
2. 10 x Thin Client

For proper licensing of Symantec End Point Protection, how many license does the client need to purchase :

1. 1 only as there is only 1 physical server.
2. 1 + 10, licensing is based on physical and RDS session.

So for that setup you would need 11 licences (seats) 1 for each environment that has SEP installed.

each and every physical and virtual machines needs to be protected with SEP and each one of them require seperate license. so you would need 11 seats.

Remote Desktop Services, formerly Terminal Services, is a server role in Windows Server that provides technologies that enable users to access session-based desktops, virtual machine-based desktops, or applications in the data center from both within a corporate network and from the Internet.

Each running instance (physical and/or virtual) must be licensed. In your environment you required total licenses.

Seat count is based on number of Computers, not on Users or User Mode
