Any alternate tool like Symantec Endpoint Recovery Tool (SERT) is a bootable CD that can scan and remove malware from an infected computer.

you need to have an Ethernet connection connected to internet and NBRT will automatically download definitions and use them while running the scan.

    Hi SKP,

Thanks for the post.  Are you talking about a computer that will not even boot into Windows or is it a computer that you just need to scan for threats and remove those, without a working SEP client installed-?

    Many thanks!

    Mick
