    Hi All,

    I am assisting our Security Audit Team create 2 reports for Virus Definition Distribution one for our Workstation and the other for our Server Fleets. the requirements a report show definition date, number of clients and percentage. I initially thought easily done, as our clients are have 2 parent groups Workstations and Servers with child groups of these containing all the clients. So I selected the Quick Reports Menu and the following options;
    Report type = Computer Status
    Select a Report = Virus Definition Distribution
    Group = Parent group for our workstations (no actual clients in this group, all clients are in child-groups)
    All other options left at default. I ran the report and it returned zero workstations! So I selected one of the child groups and run the report. Bingo I had a report with some of the information I needed.
    I appears you cannot run a report on a parent group that also includes all clients in the child-groups.
    While we only have 8 workstations child groups which I can select via the group select window, we have 67 server groups this is proving to be a very tedious task to select each group via the group selection window. I did think that I could export the list of groups and then copy and paste into the groups field but it does not accept all of the data pasted, I aussme there this a character limit to the field for free text. NOTE: I can manually select groups from the group selection window beyond the limits of the pasted infomation!

    What I would like to know is is there a way of creating the Virus Definition Distribution to report on all clients that are in a child group with the parent group selected (i.e. 1 for our Workstation and another for the Server parent groups)?

    Try this one: Maybe it can help you

    To use the spreadsheet generate a "virus definition distribution report" by doing the following:

    1) log into SEPM

    2) Go to reports page

    3) Select computer status and virus definition distribution will pop up

    4) Generate report for Group you want information on. Copy the following information from the reports (Definition Date Revision, version inserted at, number of computers, percentage) and paste between columns A-E of the spreadsheet and your data will be interpretted. :

    When creating a report and you want to include sub-groups, add this "\*" at the end minus the quotes.

    You're most welcome! You can use wilcards in your search criteria. I've even used it to find certain computers and groups having the same partial name.

    e.g. *dept*\* will show you results from groups that contains the word 'dept'
