  • 1.  Configuring Firewall Rules for File Sharing Vista/Windows 7

I have followed the articles about adding specific rules to Endpoint and all the ports. But I still cannot connect to see any shares.

Everything seems to be turned on in the Network area in Vista. When I disable Endpoint, everything works fine. But once I re-enable it, everything is blocked.

What else needs to be done with my small workgroup of computers (which all run Endpoint) in order for everything to start being shared?

If you have installed all the features of endpoint i.e. AV/AS, PTP, NTP then try removing the NTP feature and then check for the connectivity because this feature is similar to that of a Firewall and has the capability of blocking incoming and outgoing traffic.

First you check any block local file sharing rule is enabled in firewall policy or not. If enable disable it. If not helps create a rule which will allow traffic in following ports tcp 445,UDP 137,138,139  .Keep the rule in the top
