Here you find the document about ports used by SAV:
Ports used for communication in Symantec AntiVirus 10.x and Symantec Client Security 3.x
    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH101169

It is enough to open 2967 TCP and 38293 UDP for the communication.

SEP is a different product and uses different ports (usually TCP 8014 for client-manager communication):

its only the port number which should be of some consideration

check what ports are allowed in the firewall for SAV, use that port as IIS port while installing SEPM. nothing needs to be changed other than that..

This document describes ports for SAV.

Here you have the documents for ports in SEP:

Which Communication Ports does Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 use?

SEP is not using 38293 UDP. It uses 2967 TCP only for GUPs. In default configuration clients communicate to SEPM on 8014 TCP

you just need to open the communciation port

8014 or 80 , if GUP then 2967 if not just one is enough

    Hi,

You can also keep  File and Printer Sharing port open in firewall.

    Note :

In Firewall under exception tab you can check this option to make it open...
