When trying the migration to newer SEPM version on Windows Small Business 2008 server, there is a rollback at the end of the installation.
These are the errors received: 1. There is the following error in Event Viewer: Event ID error 1 Source - WSH General - IISConfig.vbs error( 7 ) - Unable to open IIS://LocalHost/W3SVC. The reported error was 429 - ActiveX component can't create object
2. There is failure in IIsConfig.vbs scripterror in SEPM_inst.log
3. When trying to open Symantec Web Serveror other web site in IIS, there is the following error: {0.EN_US} Home There was an error while performing this operation. Details: Server execution failed
Cause of the issue: The cause of that issue is the IIS 7 corruption.
Resolution: In order to resolve this issue please follow the steps: 1. Uninstall IIS role from Server Manager 2. Restart server 3. Install IIS role from Server Manager 4. Install required role services: - CGI - ASP.NET - IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility 5. Repair SEPM 6. Check if the access to Symantec Web Server in IIS is correct now 7. Retry the migration
