I have seen a lot of Juice Articles about creating, editing, and modifying MSI installers. But I have not seen one that explains how to use Wise SetupCapture to capture an install of any application, or any change to a computer for that matter, into an MSI installer. If you have Deployment Server, you have Wise SetupCapture in the Wise folder of your eXpress share. I have written this short article as a quick start guide to using Wise SetupCapture.

I can't find this tool anywhere? How are we supposed to create packages like we did in the 6.x flavors? Support told me to use Wise, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the files on the DS/NS server. I am at a Symantec training this week and the instructor is not sure either. We only have DS 7.1, not the Client Management Suite. All I am looking to do is to be able to build a RIP (or similar) like I have been doing for the past 8 years with the Altiris 6.x DS. I should not have to purchase the CMS total package for something I was already able to do with the older software.
Has anyone resolved the .msi file being 0 bytes in size?
I am having the same issue as joey_sasson with the end .msi file being 0 bytes in size. Does anyone know what could be happening? Joey - Have you solved this for yourself?
Thanks,
Rob
