The DCS UMC check and download updates from Symantec public LiveUpdate server (http://liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com) by default. But, you can configure the UMC to download from a internal LUA in a isolated enterprise network.
Here are the steps to configure DCS UMC to LiveUpdate from an internal LUA:
1. From LUA management console, click 'Configure' --> 'My Symantec Products', click 'Add New Products':
2. Select 'Symantec Data Center Security' from the product list:
3. Select 'Symantec Data Center Security: Unified Management Console 6.6', then click 'OK':
4. Click 'Configure' --> 'Distribution Centers', select the 'Default Production Distribution Center', then click 'Edit':
5. Click 'Add' button under 'Product List':
6. Select 'Symantec Data Center Security: Unified Management Console 6.6 English' from the list, and click 'OK':
7. From 'Download & Distribute' --> 'Schedules', click 'Add Distribution':
8. Add 'Symantec Data Center Security: Unified Management Console 6.6 English' to the distribution schedule:
9. After the distribution schedule saved, add a download schedule:
10. Add 'Symantec Data Center Security: Unified Management Console 6.6 English' into the download schedule:
11. Run the download schedule manually:
12. Confirm the download and distribution run successfully:
13. Log into DCS UMC web console, browse to 'Settings' --> 'LiveUpdate' --> 'LiveUpdate Server Settings', click edit button of the default LiveUpdate server:
14. Change the value of the LiveUpdate Server into the ones of your internal LUA that configured on the previous steps:
15. Select 'Install', then click 'Check for Updates':
16. DCS UMC will check the updates on the LUA. Click 'Download' after the check:
17. Select the latest updates, click 'Install':
18. Click OK of the warning message:
19. Input the password of the dcsadmin, then click OK to install the updates:
20. It will need 5~10 minutes to install the updates:
After 5~10 minutes, refresh the browser to log into the DCS UMC again, which is the updated new version.
