 Transfer of SEP client licenses

Hi,
May I check if it is possible to transfer the SEP client license from one client to another?

I have only purchased a limited number of licenses and there have been cases where some of my client machines broke down and new replacements are provided. How do I transfer the SEP software and license from the old machines to the new ones?

Edit: First time posting and didn't realise I cannot reply to any answers below if it is a question thread.
To clarify, I bought 25 SEP licenses and deployed them to 25 clients. 3 of these clients broke down and need to be replaced with new clients. Can I transfer the SEP licenses from the 3 broken-down clients to the 3 new ones?
Referencing the reply from , is it correct that I can delete/purge these 3 clients from SEPM first, but after which, can I then license the 3 new ones?

Thank you.

Hi Pauline,

Thanks for reaching out on this.

For more information see this link:
https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/symantec-security-software/endpoint-security-and-management/endpoint-protection/all/licensing-v15883016-d31e6/Overdeployed-or-expired-licenses-in-SEP-and-SES.html

NOTE: You can reclaim license seats that are not used anymore.

SEP:
You enable SEPM to remove clients that have not checked in within the past 24 hours, which makes these license seats available. If the number of installed clients is more than the license seat count, then this procedure does not resolve the issue. In that case, you must purchase more seats.

Hi Pauline,

AFAIK, SEP license is not transferable since it counts as a whole. Like for example, you have a total 25 SEP licenses purchased but you've deployed 30 clients. All of that 30 SEP clients are still being licensed but will trigger a notification in SEPM that you have overdeployed license. To comply, you need to delete/purge clients that were offline or already decommissioned or purchase additional license.
