 SEP Mobile for Android - Google Pixel 8

Hi, I'm an end user of SEP Mobile and one device, a new Google Pixel 8, the application is using a tremendous amount of battery (about 43% over 2 days of use). SEP Mobile is running totally fine on my other device, a Google Pixel 5.

Here are the details:

  • Device: Google Pixel 8
  • OS: Android v14 (Nov 5, 2023 security update)
  • SEP Mobile version: 4.16.0

I've tried clearing the cache and restarting the device. Happy to provide any additional details needed. Can anyone help? I'm not sure where/how to open a ticket for this issue as there's no dev support contact in the Google Play store.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your post.  The most common reason why you'd see SEP Mobile using more battery than expected is if the VPN is engaged.  Do you see a key icon in the notification tray indicating that the VPN is active?  

It would probably be best if we could work with you in a support ticket on this, as there are a number of other questions it would be good to answer, and it would also help to grab some logs from the device.  

Are you able to raise a ticket with us via the Broadcom Support Portal?
