Hi Team,

Need your assitance on this.

I have created my .net application and using advanced installer packaging tool to package it and generated EXE. This is tested fine on my local lab on different windows machines. However, when I ship my EXE package to client location, there norton software is quearantine my EXE. As my software is stright and no malware in it, it seems a false positive and hence I have raised request using below link to treat my package in false positive.

Site from where I raised request : https://symsubmit.symantec.com/
The tracking number for your "False Positive" submission is: 378138

I am waiting for this since more than 2 days and would like to know how to proceed with this further as I could not find a place to check status using tracking number. Can you please assist if this is considered and how soon I can confirmation on this? Do I need to update local symantec version before next attempt?

Thanks

Hi Rajesh,

Thanks for reaching out.

Generally, once you submit the False Positive submission you'll get an email notification from Security Response with your submission number and confirmation that we will look into it.

Most of the time these submissions are processed within 1-3 business days, other times its closer to a week.

NOTE: Your submission was submitted on January 13th, and finished on January 17th, see the email sent back from Security Response with their results.

For future reference, if you need to check on its progress or request an expedited analysis, you'll need to open a ticket with Support to help.

Otherwise, you'd just wait for another email from Security Response with their findings from their analysis.

Best,
