Ghost Console Errors on Image Creation

I have Ghost Suite 11.5.1.  I haven't used the software in a while and I'm having some issues creating an image to deploy.  The machine I'm trying to create an image from is a Getac S410 G4, Windows 10 Pro.  After failing to get the laptop to boot into the ghost console via boot disk, USB, and PXE Boot, I was able to push install the client from the Ghost console.  I created a create image task and ran it.  I get a warning that cloning via volume snapshot has failed.  This happens at around the 47% complete mark.  The Ghost cast server still continues to run and never errors out.  I am stuck as to what else to try to get this working.  Is there a newer version of the software that I should be using?  Don't have a problem getting the latest version.

Hello Nola26,

Our latest version of Ghost is 12.0.0.11566, and I'm not sure how old 11.5.1 is.  The latest Ghost Standard Tools (includes Ghost Cast Server) is 3.3 RU11.  I would suggest updating to the latest version of Ghost Tools.  Then, I would also recommend updating the Windows ADK (Win11 ADK is the latest) as this will bring in the latest storage (disk) and NIC drivers that Microsoft has about.  For Ghost Cast Server: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleId=178835

At this point you can recreate the boot environment (automation folder, PXE , USB etc.) to get the latest software into WinPE, and then try imaging again.

Updating the ADK may keep you from having to find Storage and NIC drivers for that Getac system from the manufacturer.  Having the right storage and NIC drivers makes imaging a lot smoother.  It's impossible to image with out the right storage driver.  We map a drive to the Express share (M:\) and so that will fail without the right drivers.

You may also want to check if the laptop has RAID enabled in the BIOS / UEFI, or not.  Imaging usually works better if RAID is disabled, as the RAID drivers are difficult to find.

Hope that helps.

If you need further assistance, I would recommend opening a case with support.

Thanks, Roy
