Can an SMG license be independent of the Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition?

I just wanted to ask, since the Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition license SPS-SUB-100-499 includes:

1. Symantec EndPoint Protection
2. Symantec Messaging Gateway
3. Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSME)

The customer does not need items 1 and 3 anymore, and my question is:

Is there a SKU for Symantec Messaging Gateway on its own, of course this is a one year subscription for 100-499 users. If so, what is this SKU.

Also, do you have to have SMSME to be able to use this SKU or no need to that? if So, what is the SKU for SMSME?

You need SMG-SUB. You do not need SMSMSE to use SMG-SUB. 
SMSMSE or Symantec Mail security for Microsoft exchange is for malware, Antispam protection for exchange server ( Please note Microsoft announced EOL for on premises exchange server and also Symantec too announced SMSMSE End of Life  for this SKU)

 Is the SMG-SUB license per messaging gateway server or is it a subscription basesd license for a number of users no matter the number of messaging gateway servers. For example SMG-SUB-100-499?
