  • 1.  Windows 10 feature updates deployment with Patch Management Solution

    Hi,
    Followed the steps in https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/184951/deploying-windows-10-feature-updates-wit.html

    Enabled the policy and target the test client.


    But there is no package downloaded to the client. I am not sure if there is some steps missing. Please advise.

    Ain,

    You should see it visible on software updates tab.
    It is a software update policy that you have created.

    Hello Ain Abdullah!

    1. If your client computer Windows 10 is not "English" but another, then make sure that you have selected required language for PMIMport, otherwise "SBSP-Windows10_21H2" bulletin "English" will not be applicable for Windows 10 clients which is not "English" OS.


    2.  Make sure that your assessed client computer is available in "Applies to" column of "Software Bulletin Details" report for appropriate Bulletin (If client computer isn't there, then no patch policies will arrive to it)

    Hi IP,
    ISO have been uploaded and there was no other language installed. The targeted client is not in the "Applies to" of the Software Bulletin Details. 
    Found out that the client is running on Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB.
    And I found this KB on this OS support statement.

    It appears that Patch Management Solution is not included. Could this be the reason for the client not getting the update?

    Hi Ain Abdullah!

    Patch Management doesn't perform feature updates for Windows 10 LTSB OS. Please check this KB https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?legacyId=INFO3298

    • PMImport Vendor listing Windows 10 LTSB are for deploying non-feature related updates, so the LTSB will not be upgraded by design from the vendor so these updates deployed by Patch Management Solution will not be targeting/updating the build of each release

    If you want to test how Patch Management solution will install feature updates, then please take not LTSB Windows 10 client.

    Hello,

    The only thing that could occur is that you forget to download the ISO file
    from Microsoft portal and upload the ISO to the NS in the proper path, that
    needs to be specified in the policy.

    Did you do it? Sorry if it does not help you much..
