The issue in this environment is some clients have stopped receiving patch updates, but other software updates are working fine.
The Altiris server initially had this error in the log.
The specified resource failed to obtain a license, number of clients exceeded number of obtained license seats
Exception: Error in the application., Exception Type: Altiris.NS.Licensing.LicenseExceededException
Performed some cleanup - set endpoints not reporting for the past 6 months to "Retired" and delete endpoints not reporting for the past 9 months. There is no more license exceeded error after the cleanup. WSAS ran successfully on client, but patch update is still not working.
Checked the license used in SIM and it is 0.
The custom report (Client Machines Consuming Altiris Solutions Licenses Report) is as below.
So, my questions:
1. Referring to the custom report, is "IsManaged = 1" representing the agent is utilizing the license?
2. Any reason for SIM to show "Used = 0"?
3. Does the patch update issue related to the license count exceeded initially shown? Otherwise, what should I look out for in which log?
