Two merging computers

I have two machines that continue to get the same GUID and merge with one another back and forth.  After much investigation, it appears as though they both have the same exact:

• UUID
• Motherboard Serial Number
• BIOS Serial Number

Since these three items are identical, is this the reason why they continue to merge and get the same GUID?

It is my assumption that these two devices were likely cloned since they are critical devices and cannot easily be re-imaged.

• Is anyone aware of an easy way to fix one of these devices to replace the UUID?
• Do the other two items need to be changed as well?

We have this happen at times and still struggle with it. We tell our people to never clone, but you know... happens!!!!
