There is a lot more "transparency" around other Symantec products regarding upcoming features which i believe would be beneficial for SMG customers to.
I get that Security.Cloud is prioritised, but during users groups as an example there has been no mentioning around SMG for a long time. Like it doesn't exist. So i can understand alexander-smg reaction.
We came from Cisco to Symantec three years ago to consolidate around one vendor and be able to integrate with our other solutions.
There has been a lot more development around AsyncOS during this period as a comparison.
The only major feature to us has been the WebPulse integration which has been great, but it still lacks basic functionality like exclusions.

Well I guess we could crank out another maintenance release, skipping all the features, and get it out sooner, but then people might start calling us "abandonware". :O

There is a release tentatively scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
While I am not allowed to talk about specific features and functions, I just want to point out that it is intended to be more than just a maintenance/bug-fix release.

Better loging
More ldap settings
Throttling of inbound / outbound based on sender / recipient and IP address
Bifurcation of both inbound and outbound
More routing paths for content filters
In the audit logs show what ip was attempted for failrues
Ironport does all these above things, hmmmmm....

I wouldn't bet on anything that requires any major architectural changes though, but that's just me guessing.. Care to share what features you have requested?

I don't see enough updates and features to say that it is. I have been asking for years of awesome features and I'm still waiting.

Hi,
I know the focus is on .Cloud, but on-prem should be also maintained :(

I believe focus is on Email Security.Cloud. SMG will get updates but not as frequently. Cloud-first with an option to run on-premises.
