Report That Shows Firmware Version of Hard Drives

Hello,

I'm looking for a report that will show a hard drive's firmware version of computers/devices, to eventually push out updates to those specific devices that fit the firmware version criteria. Is this possible on Altiris? I was not able to find a report for this specific scenario.

Hi Maggie Ho!

For this purpose, you can use a custom inventory functionality

1. Download attached "CustomInv_HDD_FirmwareVersion.xml" and import it in "Custom" folder

2. Download attached "Custom Inventory (Disk firmware model serial number information) task.xml" and import it in any required folder

Schedule this imported task for required computers to get custom inventory data

3. Download attached "(Custom inventory) Disk Firmware Serial Number Model information report.xml" and import it in any required folder

Now it is possible to see firmware revision, etc information about disks on inventoried computers

Hi Igor, 

Apologies for the late response! I didn't realize that I didn't get any notifications about this! Thank you this is very helpful to know for future reference. I'm wondering is dbo.fnSysMask_GetOSDisplayVersion a native table that is on the Altiris database, or something that I would have to create myself? I'm having a bit of trouble of having the report run, with it trying to reference that specific table.

Custom report fails to load because of missed "fnSysMask_GetOSDisplayVersion" function in your database?
What SMP version you have?

The current SMP version is 8.1.

Then this is expected that custom report doesn't work because of 8.1 version.
Please use attached "Custom inventory Disk Firmware Serial Number Model report ITMS81.xml" custom report for ITMS 8.1 version

Our last release of 8.1 was July 2018, and it was End of Life'd back in October 2021.  There are a lot of new features that have been added to 8.5, 8.6 and 8.7.  Support would love to help you Upgrade to 8.7.2.  Please create a case if you'd like assistance.
