Today, we are pleased to announce that IT Management Suite 8.7.2 is now available. 

    Highlights of the Symantec IT Management Suite 8.7.2 release include: 

    • Symantec Management Platform
      • Azure AD (Microsoft Entra) integration
        • Symantec Management Console and Software Portal Authentication
          • Enables support for Multifactor Authentication
        • Import of security roles, computer groups and user groups
        • Support for Azure AD only environments when local account used for Agent Connectivity Credentials
      • Use any Windows account credentials for SQL authentication for ITMS database or Data Connector data sources
      • ASDK support for changing scope of Symantec Management Platform security roles

    • Symantec Management Console
      • Option to override maintenance windows within automation policies
      • New Schedule dialog displays maintenance window status information of selected computers
      • Option to specify duration to retain task instance data
      • IF conditions in jobs and tasks that evaluate as "False" no longer identified as failures
      • Administrators can clone items to other folders where they have permission to create child items
      • Software Purchases list on Software License page sorted alphabetically

    • Symantec Management Agent
      • Support for Windows 11 23H2
      • Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.9 and Oracle Linux 8.9
      • Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.3 and Oracle Linux 9.3
      • Ability to notify end users of maintenance window opening

    • Patch Management
      • Improved Office 365 patching error handling
      • New command line parameter to troubleshoot Office 365 patching after channel change
      • New error code added for Windows assessment scan to identify situations in which scan did not complete successfully because operating system no longer supported
      • Randomization of Windows system assessment scan start time
      • Options to not send Windows system assessment scan event data to Notification Server to reduce system load
      • New Linux channels automatically selected for import if corresponding OS version was previously fully selected

    • Inventory
      • System SKU Number collected from motherboard on Windows and Linux computers where available
      • Information about system boot mode (BIOS or EFI) and Secure Boot status collected

    • Deployment
      • iPXE binaries updated to version 1.21.1+
      • LinuxPE updated to FRM Build 11013
      • Ability to import drivers into LinuxPE
      • Scripted O/S Installation (SOI) packages can now be edited and deleted on OS Files page
      • Boot To task option that enables reboot to be bypassed if client already booted into preboot environment
      • Ability to specify TFTP Window Size for WinPE image to reduce overall download time for boot images

    • Software Management
      • Purge software previously detected but no longer installed software from Unmanaged Software list
      • Subordinates Request tab in Software Portal now displays open requests from direct reports by default

    i am working on a What's New in ITMS 8.7.2 presentation and have almost completed it. Once it's finished, we will schedule an Endpoint Management Office Hours call to discuss the material.
