The Essential Security Products group of Broadcom's Identity Management Security division is pleased to announce the general availability of Symantec IT Management Suite 8.6 RU3.
Highlights of the release include:
- Patch Management Solution – install software updates as part of the imaging/provisioning process
- Patch Management Solution – distribute and report on compliance regarding software updates that cannot be automatically downloaded from vendor *
- Patch Management Solution – filter Compliance by Computer report by Severity or Custom Severity
- Patch Management Solution – filter Compliance by CVE ID report by CVSS v2 and CVSS v3 scores *
- Patch Management and Software Management Solution – option to not install packages if computer running on battery power
- Deployment Solution – Linux UEFI and 64-bit support
- Deployment Solution – create preboot .ISO file to support remote imaging
- Basic Inventory – identify machines running under Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) and Google Compute Engine (GCV) hypervisors as virtual machines
- End user notification tasks – display messages using WebView 2 (Chromium-based Edge framework) rather than ActiveX

* These features involve changes to both the product and the Windows patch management data feed. The changes to the product are incorporated in the ITMS 8.6 RU3 release. Changes to the data feed are expected to be made within approximately one month from the product release date. The new features can be used after the changes to the data feed are made.
