How does the Proxy SG have its application awareness enriched when a CloudSoc license is purchased?

    Hi;

    As far as I know the Symantec Proxy SG solution "without CloudSoc license" is capable of recognising about 1200 odd cloud applications. However, when a CloudSoc license is purchased, the Proxy SG's awareness is extended to about 40,000 applications as far as I remember.

    Now, my question is, how does this happen?

    Is it that the Global Intelligence Network has this awareness already, but it only makes it available to the Proxy SG device upon a purchase of a CloudSoc license?

    Yes, exactly. The CASB license unlocks additional functionality for WSS/ProxySG.
