  • 1.  Ghost suite query for image size and traffic flow

    Hi Team,

Can anyone help me to address below query.

How much would be approximate image size / data traffic which would flow through the network while deploying image on one endpoint.

How would the traffic flow or image be deployed in case the system Operating System has crashed (system not booting scenario)

    Hello Arpit Dave,

The data that flows to the endpoint is no less than the size of the image.  Typical images are 5-20GB.  All of that data, plus a few bits would flow over the network.

For the system that has crashed, you would have atleast these 2 options:

Interrupt boot - F8 -and boot to WinPE from PXE across the network.

Interrupt boot - F8 - and boot to WinPE from USB thumbdrive.

(Of course these options would need to be created and available in your environment.)

Once booted into WinPE, you can deploy an image on the system from the GSS Console.  This traffic flow would be the same as the above - the size of the image would be sent to the system.

If you need further assistance, please create a case and support would be happy to assist you.

    Thanks, Roy
