Usually, Symantec Message Gateway allows hardware support for 5 years from the date of purchase. If this is above 5 years the Tech support wont be available.
In the above said case, the hardware is purchased on June 2016 and it is no more in the supported platform for 10.8.0 Release version.

Customer has purchased hardware in June 2016 and raised service request to understand their Symantec messaging gateway 8340 applicable for new version 10.8.0-7 upgrade and it is mentioned in both supported or not supported platform.
