confirmation Symantec Messaging Gateway 8340 supported for version 10.8.0-7 or not

Hello Broadcom team,

Customer has purchased hardware in June 2016 and raised service request to understand their Symantec messaging gateway 8340 applicable for new version 10.8.0-7 upgrade and it is mentioned in both supported or not supported platform.

Symantec™ Messaging Gateway 10.8.0 Release Notes clearly stated as latest version doesn't support if you purchased before august 2016.

The latest fixes still don’t fix the backup issue failure notice. Arg.

Usually, Symantec Message Gateway allows hardware support for 5 years from the date of purchase. If this is above 5 years the Tech support wont be available. 

In the above said case, the hardware is purchased on June 2016 and it is no more in the supported platform for 10.8.0 Release version.

thank you for your kind confirmation.

Does this mean that if a consumer wants to upgrade their device to version 10.8, they must change their hardware after five years?

Hi Kavya,

The hardware testing is done for the purchases made with in the last 5 years. Any recent(Version 10.8) or future updates to the old hardwares may not be supported.
