  • 1.  Accuracy of patch Assessments

    Hi, 

    I have a situation where the accuracy of the patch assessment scans is being challenged by my management.

    A newly built 2019 was patched using Windows Update until it said it was up to date but our scans continued to show it needing patches, and especially a current SSU update from a year ago. From what I can see it seems WSUS reports the same  requirements and has installed these on other servers, but this anomaly is being used to cast doubt over the accuracy of our Patch Assessment scans and their use (everything is configured correctly and working). Is there anything available that would answer this challenge and support the accuracy of our scans especially vis a vis Windows Update.

    Hello Hannah!

    Is my understanding correct that in your case Altiris/Broadcom  Patch solution for an arbitrary machine X shows more NOT INSTALLED updates  than Windows update for the same machine,  while your wish is to see always 1-1 match ?

    Just in case -  please specify the exact report you are using in Patch Solution you view the assessment scan results and also the way (where /how/commandline?) you view the "Windows update" reports
