How to add Good Senders and Bad Senders to Brightmail Gateway

Oct 04, 2010 11:03 AM

Hello everybody,
As you well know Symantec Brightmail Gateway is a "Best Spam Filter". And it is very easy to use. In this article i will demonstrate how to add bad senders and good senders (domains or mail address) in Brightmail Gateway.
In the Reputation tab > Good Senders

In the Good Senders Tab Click "Local Good Sender Domains" and click "Add"

Write domain address or mail address in there. And click Save Button.

That's all. now Brightmail will accept mails from this domains (or address)

Now we will add bad senders. In the Reputation tab click Bad Senders. And click "Add" Button.

Write mail address or domains in there as like Good Senders. And click "Save"

You will see Action tab below. This is the best option. :) Because you do more things in here. Delete message, forward, archive etc.
For example I will choice "Deliver the message to the receipent's spam folder"

and Click "Save"

Now i will try this option. I created a rule for my mail address and now i will test it. This mail must to go my Spam Mail folder. Because i choice
"Deliver the message to the receipent's spam folder" option.

I send mail and open my outlook. Than I saw mail went to my spam mail folder.

Therefore I know my bad senders rule are runing.
Thank you.

Best Regards.
Fatih
