Last week, at its annual Security & Risk summit, Gartner, Inc. presented the Top Technologies for Information Security for 2017. At Symantec, we are thrilled to see that once again, browser isolation (also known as remote browser) is featured as a top security technology.
“As attackers improve their capabilities, enterprises must also improve their ability to protect access and protect from attacks" said Neil MacDonald, vice president, distinguished analyst and Gartner Fellow Emeritus. "Security and risk leaders must evaluate and engage with the latest technologies to protect against advanced attacks…"
This is the 2nd consecutive year that web isolation is featured on Gartner’s top security technologies list. Gartner continues to affirm that the browser is a primary attack vector and only browser isolation can completely protect against web-borne malware and phishing from uncategorized and risky websites. As noted in the press release: “Information security architects can't stop attacks, but can contain damage by isolating end-user internet browsing sessions from enterprise endpoints and networks.”
Offered as a managed cloud service, on-premises or a hybrid deployment, Symantec Web Isolation enables secure web browsing while providing a seamless user experience. Our web isolation technology has been adopted by leading banks, telecommunications and utilities companies which recognize the importance of web isolation in threat prevention.
