This is the correct and easier way to do it.
The harder, more manual way is to back up each portion one by one:
Policy:
Configuration > Policy > Policy Files > Visual Policy Files > VPM-CPL > Text Editor > Install. Copy to notepad. This is the Policy logic file.
Configuration > Policy > Policy Files > Visual Policy Files > VPM-XML > Text Editor > Install. Copy to notepad. This is the Policy graphical state file (what VPM shows).
Configuration > Policy > Policy Files > Policy Files > Install Local File from > Text Editor > Install. Copy to notepad. This is another Policy logic file. SOmetimes will be blank based on your configuration.
Configuration > Policy > Exceptions > Install Exception Definitions from > Text Editor > Install. Copy to notepad. This is the Exception pages on policy block, etc.
Network and Global configs:
Configuration > Policy > Archive > Archive Configuration > Configuration - expanded > View. This is the Network configurations mostly.
