    Is there anyone that already tried to uninstall Kaspersky (with password) via SEPprep?

    I have tried uninstalling using SEPprep with password in eScan but with Kaspersky it installs SEP but leaves Kaspersky installed.

    Thanks in Advance!!

    Hi Powell,

    I did tried that but unfortunately there is a password on Kaspersky and it blocks it from uninstalling Kaspersky and skips to just installing SEP. So i end up having 2 AVs installed in my PC.

    What version of Kaspersky are you on?

    You will need to find where the password is in the registry and add it to the sepprep.ini to remove this registry key before installing SEP. It should then work.

    Or just simply contact Kaspersky to ask how to remove the client automatically and/or remotely if protected by password :-)

    @Brian: I am using KavWks 6.0.4.1212, NetAgent 8.0.2048 and KavFs 6.0.4.1212.
    and yes looking at the registry is another way of uninstalling it if it has a password, but i cant seem to find that specific registry.

    I believe you will need to use the Kaspersky Removal Tool if you do not know the password.

    Actually there's a way to uninstall Kaspersky via Windows registry. You should only go through this method if you have lost your password. Here's how to do it:
    1. Boot in Safe Mode
    2. Open Registry Editor (regedit)
    3. Browse to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KasperskyLab\protected\KES10SP1\settings
    4. Look for the EnablePswrdProtect key.
    5. Change the value to 0.

    If you have an older version of Kaspersky installed on your system then the key path would be slightly different. If you need detailed instructions then see this Guide.

    Hello,

    I tried these steps, but when I attempt to change 1 to 0, I encounter an error.
