We are Softlock, we provide software protection solutions since 1996. Visit our site at www.softlock.net

When we try our new protection, the NORTON antivirus 2010 detects the protected application as a high security risk.

    The details report gives:

SONAR protection monitor for suspicious program activity in your computer.

What types of things does the application do that SONAR does not like?

If you are sure on that application and really important to you, you might want to exclude the detected file...

I submitted an application sample by https://submit.symantec.com/dispute/security_risks/

The problem that we provide our software protection layer to many applications, our custmers cannot accept avoiding SONAR problem by execulding thier application.

I need to know why sonar detects us as a security risk while we are not?? We could lose our bussiness if we could not solve this problem.

    Thanks

I make an account on the website just to complain about this.  I have a program that I had been running for about 2 weeks now.  2 days ago I upgraded from Norton's 2009 to Norton's 2010.  Now one of the files in the program I have been running gets the error SONAR protection monitor for suspicious program activity in your computer, and says something about very few people having run that program.

Of course very few people have run this program!  I am beta testing a game expansion before it goes live!  I told the firewall to allow this file, I told Sonor Protection to exclude this file, but it insists on shutting down the program and putting the file that it does not like into quarantine.

Because of this, when I want to run this program, I shut OFF the Sonar Protection feature.  I have to say, a feature that you have to shut off to be able to use a program on your computer is not doing it's job.
