Symantec Corporation hereby informs you that we will be discontinuing the availability of Touchdown by Symantec. This notice details the key dates that may be of importance to you.

End of Support:
Symantec Corporation will End of Life (“EOL”) the product(s) identified in this notification including any Maintenance Packs (MPs) and/or patches for each version, in all released languages. Technical support and content updates for customers with current Email-only Support, Basic Maintenance Support or Essential Support will be available according to the dates in the said table. This notice describes the timelines for the delivery of support services for these products that have reached their EOL.

Symantec Corporation will End of Life the Product(s) identified in this notification including any Maintenance Packs and/or patches for each version, in all released languages. Technical support and content updates for customers with current Maintenance Support will be available according to the dates listed in the table below. This notice describes the timelines for the delivery of support services for these products that have reached their End of Life.
Note: Symantec Touchdown applications available on Apple app store and Google Play will continue to be available for download by current licensees of the product.

What this means, in plain terms, is that the decision has been made to End of Life Touchdown, meaning that within a month, it will no longer be for sale. Symantec will be removing the ability to purchase Touchdown in early August, so if you want to purchase any final licenses before then, do so quickly.
Thanks for the kind words- I'm actually the last remaining member of Nitrodesk still involved with Touchdown, so that means a lot. It's the customers and the amazing community that really put Touchdown on the map, and I am eternally grateful for their support and enthusiasm for the product.
Sadly, we don't have a replacement product. Your license won't be revoked, but we'll be removing Touchdown from the store, and after the End of Support timeline passes, I won't be doing any Touchdown support. (Moving to another product.)
This is a sad day. :( I missed the initial EOL notice on the play store.
I've been using Touchdown since 2010, it has been one of the most reliable pieces of software I've ever used. There's never been a problem (for me) other than a few minor hiccups, it's been improved frequently over the years and the response to questions and support has been fantastic especially from the original developers - support from Symantec has also been good since it purchased the product. A big thanks from me to all involved with the product.
Will there be a replacement for Touchdown?
Can you confirm how existing users will be able to use the app once it goes EOL?
I assume that the users will have access to the app in the relevant app store and it will be usable if they previously purchased the app?

For Android, you won't be able to purchase it, but previous users can still use Touchdown. Before End of Support, you'll be able to get a fresh license key from the support alias if you can provide a google play order number. iOS, I will get back to you on that, there was a discussion on how to provide it to users that I'm waiting to hear back on.

In response to some of the feedback I've been hearing, Symantec is not providing a replacement app with similar functionality, although it should be noted that the EoL means that it will no longer be sold- you will still be able to use it, just not buy more licenses.
Do you have an update for the EOL timeframe? Have there been any changes to the timeframe?
Could you clarify this also? The below dates have come and gone?
I note that the app is still available on the Play store so it would be great to get a firm date on when it will no longer be available on the Play store. (except for those who already downloaded it)
The product will be no longer for sale 8/7/17, removed completely 8/7/18.

Touchdown by Symantec (iOS)
Touchdown was/is one of the two or three apps that made me stick to Android (Locus Map Pro is the other one).
I am having a few issues with touchdown HD on a new android devices were it keeps freezing / non-responsive.
how do i report this? I have sent off error reports etc through the phone when prompted.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for support and we'll get some logs there.
