    Hi!

In my network is PC on which it is installed Windows 7 and client SEP 11 RU6 MP2. These PC can't copy files of great volumes on WinServer2008. In the beginning of process of copying there is a message on an estimation of time and process hangs up.
It it is not watched at copying on WinServer2003 or at switch-off on clients SEP Network Threat Protection.

try removing network threat protection component

    add/remove programs

select symantec endpoint, select modify, select NTP, this feature and sub feature wil not be available.

    complete the install..

check if that allows u to copy the files..

    Hello,

Questions: Is these issue happening only on Windows 7 machine when connecting to Windows 2008 server or this is happening with Windows XP machine connecting to Windows 2008 server as well?

If not, Please try turning off the Windows Firewall with Advance Security on Windows 2008 server.

Windows firewall with Advance Security could be found under Programs>Administrative Tools

On PC with WinXP and client SEP of such problem isn't present.
    Firewall switch-off on WinServer2008 hasn't changed a situation.

It not the problem resolution. NTP unit is necessary!

on the client machine, open symantec  endpoint and open logs , check if you are able to see any firewall logs, this would tell us the rule which is blocking it.

the point to remove ntp was to find the source of the problem, for such issues, NTP Is the root cause..

I would bet this has to do with SMB2, which is why Rafeeq suggested removing NTP.

File copies over SMB2 fail with Network Threat Protection installed/enabled
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH139768

You could also test by disabling SMB2.

This is slated for resolution in the next release, but of course that is subject to change.

    Thanks!

Has disabled SMB2 on server2008 side:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters - Parameter Smb2 (type DWORD) - value 0 is created. Has overloaded.

All works, even at enabled NTP.

I'm glad that worked! ...but I think the convention is to note my answer as the solution, not your own. smiley

Ok. But it actually not the solution!!!wink It would be desirable to hear from experts of Symanteс - in what was specific a problem and when there will be a correction?

    I gave both above:

    - Problem: an issue between NTP and SMB2 communications, with the workaround of disabling SMB2

    - Solution: next release (RU6 MP3), for which I do not have a firm date.
