  • 1.  SMG Alert Bmserver Crashed

    Hello guys,

    Recently my scanner became send this alert bellow.


    bmserver crashed on signal 6 on cip415ctg.cip.lan.com exit code: 0x0086

     Program output:

    panic: "BLTPR_FALSE" is false at src/sg_context.cpp:798

     Storing data in /data/scanner/jobs/bmserver/2020.10.21-19.13.49


    I need more information about this, in somes Broadcom KBs they say that this is a failed to validate smg license, but i cannot believe because this server have internet access and connection with url register.brightmail

    Did u reboot your smg?

    No my SMG not was rebooted.

    Bmserver is the anti-spam filtering server component within the SMG.  I guess it is "possible" for it to core due to a licensing issue, but I expect that it is highly unlikely.  More probable is that it was due to weird content or composition within an email or attachment that it was scanning.

    Best thing to do is to open a support case, provide a diagnostics file, which will contain any stack traces and core files, along with other machine state information and let customer support take a look at it.

    Best thing is to reboot first
