  • 1.  Unable to run a cmd as task

    Hi,

    I wonder if someone can help me please?

    I am trying to run a task to deply an office update on one of the remote server. Command is "\\servername\deploy\install.cmd" .

    If I run the command manually it does work but with Altiris it is failing with error code 1. 

    Could someone please let me know what I am doing wrong?

    Altiris runs commands using the context the agent runs under, the local System account. this doesn;t usually have any rights to access external shares like \\servername\deploy.

    I'm not sure where the ADSK comes into this?

    If you're using Ghost Solution Suite or the old Deployment Server 6.9 you should create a "Distribut Software" Task in your Job.

    If you're using Client Management Suite you should ideally use Patch Management Solution but otherwise at least use Software Delivery Solution to create a Software Release with a command line and detection rule and deploy that via Policy.
