Hi;
In the cli "Enable" mode, every-time I try to edit this file using the command:
edit-settings edit preferences.cfg
I get the error:
E437 Terminal capability "CM" required.
I am logged in to the CLI using the username admin.

I contacted support and they recommended an upgrade to version 10.5.2. They also told me that starting from version 10.2, you need to edit the preferences.cfg file in the conf t mode rather than the "enable mode.
