If i am not wrong  you want to System Services Tag Details (System Serial No.).

    It's not possible.

You can use another product Like Symantec Altiris for System Inventory.

Service tag or asset tag is what you mean?

I don't believe this is possible thru SEPM. You would need to pull this from the BIOS.

    Hi,

As everyone stated it's not possible with the help of SEPM.

My past experience says it's a manual job generally accmplished by Desktop Team :)

It's very important data for audit purpose.

    Hello,

Even if SEPM retreive a lot of hardware information, like processor model, processor number, Processor type  clock stepping, ram intalled, mac addresses, Bios Version, the computer serial number is not a part of these information. You can get these information by make an export of the result og log query in the control Menu, then choose your computer or group, do not select any filter, then on the result, click on export and open the .csv fil witch Excel.

A free application can be used to get these information and have a full management system for team support : OCS inventory from SourceForge.

Agree with above comments, symantec endpoint will not provide the Service tag/ S.N. For this information you can use different s/w

Our desktop naming convention uses the serial number. Maybe that's what your friend used?

You've heard it from the guys in the above posts and the DB schema confirms it, there is no field for a PC serial number. It certainly would have helped when matching SEP to external databases.

You must remember: SEP is not an inventory tool.

Kindly cross check with your friend. If possible then get the snapshot for your refference. I am 100% sred that Service Tag will not get through SEPM. If in case it happen through SEP get all the step from him and version of SEPM.

Second Option is raise te case in Symantec
