    Version 11.0.1.1533, Novell network, all XPSP3 boxes, server on an XPSP3 box.  When I start to grab an image from a computer the network floods with UDP packets.  All other traffic comes to a screetching halt.  Any ideas why this is happening?  I have other sites that do not have this problem at all.

    Thanks

    Hi N0mad,

    when you grab(create) an image using ghostcast server, it uses unicast.

    and unicast will use udp packets.

    when you restore an image, it can use either multicast,unicast or broadcast.

    when you say you don't have any issue in other sites, was it the same operation?

    are there any difference between your current site and other site?

    (e.g. network setup or ghost operation ... etc)

    if you are using ghost console, you can limit the data flow so it will reduce the udp packet in your network. however, imaging process will be slow since you are sending less data at a time.

    (go to tools->options->data transfer)
