  • 1.  Current scalability for NS7 SP4, CMS SP2

    Am interested in gathering opinions and experiences on the current scalability levels for NS with CMS (which sums up about 75% of my customers). What sort of client numbers are we seeing from highly spec'd servers at the moment? I'm hearing anything from 5000 to 10000 for a highly spec'd NS7 box with SQL on a separate 64-bit box. Largest I've seen recently is about 5K. Any opinions? Experiences?

    We are going to be migrating about 9000 clients to our new CMS7 box.  We have both a high spec'd NS and off box 64 bit SQL.  I'll post performance notes after it happens in May.

    First server will be about 7,000...late April/Early May for performance check.

    We have one region that will be over 10k.

    I never run SQL "on box"...can't wait for 7.1 when I can run NS on a box with real RAM.

    Yeah, same here re: NS7.1.  Sounds like we're all in the same boat for now.  My NS needs to handle about 7000 now but needs to be scalable to 19,000 which isn't possible right now.

    The release of CMS/SMS 7.1 is currently slated for early Q4 2010.

    Hi, just care disk access embedding the SQL the same server. As a NS server act a lot as a Web server, creating a lot of files (NSE), acting as a File server distributing a lot of packages (but you probably deploy package servers to lower File services)... Disk access can be a trugle !
