  • 1.  Laptops keep falling off the domain.

    Posted Oct 10, 2008 09:33 AM

    Hello,

I've got Laptops falling off the domain every 2 weeks after being imaged.. I've tried the following:

    -  Tried removing it from the domain and joining it back but get the "network cannot be reached" message

    -  DNS is set up correctly and new machines that have been reimaged are successfully added back in to the domain without issue

    - Tried reseting the secure channel password using netdom on the affected machines but this failes with a similar error of not finding the domain.

    - Tried clearing all local profiles no Joy

    - Finally tried deleting the network card and adding it back on again then it joins the domain but falls off after 2 weeks.

    - Checked all password policies to confirm that no resets are done.

    - The only proven solution is to reimage the laptop. This then allows it to stay on for another 3-4 weeks.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Just repasted the info cos the formatting on the last post wasn't so good.  I've also removed some driver info due to message limit as well.

For Sysprep v1.0 (the version included with Windows 2000), you
will not need the following sections.

The following key is only supported by Sysprep v1.1.
This section allows a SYSPREP image to install on a machine
with any of the drive controller types matching the
plug and play IDs of the lines below.

    Format of this section is:
       <PlugAndPlayID> = <location of supporting *.INF file>
