    Good day support folks. We have an end user who has SDE v. 11.0 installed and the issue(s) that he is encountering is that the Windows 7 updates never install, the cycle is they look as if they are going to install but they never do. This happens at log off. I am of the mind that the encryption of the drive has something to do with this issue.

    I have seen other articles showing issues between SDE and Windows updates. I would like to know if the two may be related, I have never come across this issue before. I have run all of the Windows update diagnostics and reset tools to no avail. It seems as if there are 2 Windows updates that try to install but never do and at log off it shows they are installing but they never do. It is an ongoing issue.

    Please advise if this can possibly be due to the SDE and Drive encryption. This user is the ONLY person in the company to have SDE and this issue.

    Thank you!

    @BNSCORPIO

    So we havent seen such issues, however i would recommend to see if we can decrypt this drive and then run the Updates manaully. Its much possible that this could relate to the Encryption on the Drive not allowing the updates to get installed.

    Thanks

    If in fact this is the issue, what is there to say that it will not happen again after decrypting and re encrypting?

    I am sorry, but I put a lot of effort into that and I would like it not only resolved but for it not to happen again. :-(
