  • 1.  Client will not install

    Ok, I have just created 4 new users in our Trial subscription.  3 of them worked fine, one of them, while it let him register, will not install the software on his computer.  The loading page just sits there and then we get a TIME OUT.  We tried to run the enroll again, it tells him that is computer is already enrolled, however, we don't see the device on your webpage.  We tried to delete the account and re-added it, but still shows the device as enrolled, yet we can not locate it at all on your website.

    FYI, this is on a Windows 10 Pro machine.

    Hello Mark,

     

    What's the version of your Windows 10 device? 

     

    Could you check whether your device is already connected  to Symantec MDM? If yes then please disconnect it and try to enroll the device.

    You can check it at - Settings > Accounts > Work access page or Settings > Accounts > Access work or school page.

    Ok, so this is what I did.  First, I removed the user, which removed the computer.  Then I re-added the user.  However, when we tried to enroll the device for that user, it said it was already enrolled.  I could not find it anywhere on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud webiste.  So, I then created a Installation package for this user and had them install that.  So, now,  as for you suggestion, to check "Settings > Accounts > Work Access page or Settings > Accounts > Access work or school page...where exactly to I find this at. When I look at your webpage, I don't see "Accounts" under settings.  As for the local product, I don't see anything like "Settings"

    One other thing, on your website, you have a Groups/Users/Devices page, it tells me that I have 4 unassigned Devices.  What exactly does that mean?  How do I assign a device to a user?

    Never mind on this. After some digging, I had to "Transfer" it to a user.  Wording made it more difficult then it was.   Thanks.

    This section for future refrence:

    "for you suggestion, to check "Settings > Accounts > Work Access page or Settings > Accounts > Access work or school page"

    Is a windows 10 Settings.  You can find that as the gear icon or under the "S" settings after clicking the start button(windows key on keyboard).  From there click the Accounts icon.  Then you will see Access work or school on the left side.
