Hiding attributes of a data class (Accounting information)

Hi,

I am having problems hiding attributes of the data class "Accounting Information".

When I hide the attribute "Available for Use" and "Disposal Date", I can still see them when I try to create a new asset eg. a new computer when I select "Purchase" under purchase or lease.

Can anyone tell me how can I fix this issue?

Hi ahuour,

When you open the dialog box to create or edit a configuration item, the default view opens. On the default view, you can specify information for all the data class attributes that apply to this configuration item type. On the default view, you can also create all associations that are possible for this configuration item type. When you do not need to insert some data or you prefer to insert the data in a different order, you can edit the default views. You can also create new views.

 

1. Open the dialog box to create or edit a configuration item.

    

2. In the dialog box, in the View drop-down list, click Manage Views....

3.  In the Change Edit Views dialog box, do one of the following:

   • To create a new edit view, click New, insert the name of the view, and then click OK.

   • To modify a default edit view, select the view that you want to edit.

4. Select the Data classes and Associations that are displayed on the Edit configuration item page when you select the view.

   Symantec suggests that you select the Data classes and Associations based on your data entry roles.

5. Click Save changes.

Thanks for replying me! But the solution you posted did not solve my problem.

I have attached my screenshots to better explain my situation.

I have hidden certain attributes of the data class "accounting information", in this case "Available for use" and "Disposal date"

However when I create a new asset "eg. a new computer" and select purchase under purchase or lease, the fields still appears when though it is supposed to be "Hidden".

Is there any other settings that I have missed?
