  • 1.  SAV Corp 8 and Security Center

    Every time we reboot our Win XP machines, Microsoft's Security Center complains that there is NO anti-virus software - despite SAV Corp 8.00.9374 being installed, up-to-date and running.
     
    We need to tick the Security Center box that says "I have an antivirus program that I'll monitor myself..." to stop the wee Red Shield in the System Tray.
     
    Anyone have a workaround for this (that doesn't involve buying new software)...?
     
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    MorkenTheMonk,

    That happens because SAV 8 is far older than XPSP2 and the windows security centre can't detect SAV 8 installed in your machines. The latest versions of SAV 9 and 10  have options in the SSC to configure the way they interact with the Windows Security Centre.

    So you could upgrade or just configure the security centre not to warn you ;-)
