Hi everyone....
I need some help with Software inventory.

I added a software named Rapid7, so it1s showing under Software Catalog however I also added the same software under "All Software Releases". The software under All Software Releases is showing correctly all servers with the software installed but the software under "Software Catalog is not showing any server with the software installed.
So the question is how do I merge both? (Software Catalog + All Sotfware Releases). At the end, I just one have one software where I can deploy and see which servers got the software installed.

Thank you for your help.

Hello Alex !
From the screenshots it is not clear which "Software Releases" are associated with the "Software Product".

What does "Inventory" view of the Rapid SW product show ?
In my example Ankh (version2) product is associated with 1 AnkhSVN 2.2.11610.27 - English Software Release.

"Software Product" is a grouping entity which aim is to detect license usage and software usage tracking.
However "Software Release" is THE  entity which is installed on the client machines.

Number of "software pieces" listed under "Software Product" is a sum of software releases installations.

Thus the question is - which software release reports that it is installed and does it fall into the SW Product definition

Thank you Arthur for the reply.
So here is:

This one, I created manually and dont have any inventory.

So i think I should keep the "Rapid7 Insight Agent x64 - English (United States)Rapid7, Inc. (Version 3.1.1.1)" product but add the Rapid7 release one into the product. Am I right? if yes, how do i do that?

HI Alex!

Software Releases are associated with software Product automatically by SQL like-matching against Software Release  name AND  company AND version (these properties are setup in the "Inventory" view of the software product).
Since Products is a grouping entity you may specify less symbols to aggregate more individual software releases.
In your case I would recommend to create Product like
name = Rapid7
vendor = rapid 7, inc
version =3.1  (if you want to aggregate 3.1.X.X release)

Leave just one of Rapid7 products. Otherwise Software Release might potentially be de-associated with one and associated with another randomly ( by design Software release is allowed to be bound just with 1 product)

Hope this helps
