CA Tuesday Tip: The CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1 Troubleshooting Guide offers “one stop shopping” to assist in problem diagnosis.

   The CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1Troubleshooting Guide was introduced to the documentation set mid-2014.  Prior to that, troubleshooting information for the various CA Common Services Components was scattered across multiple guides making it difficult to find.   The Troubleshooting Guide consolidates this content into a single document.

   The Troubleshooting Guide contains information as to what data to collect for the different components, hints on how to interpret the data, tips on identifying and resolving various problems, and different
commands you can enter in order to perform internal traces.  

   This information can prove valuable in the event you need to open a case with Technical Support.  You will most likely already have the necessary documentation on hand to enable support to quickly diagnose and resolve your problem.    

   You can find a copy of the Troubleshooting Guide either on the CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1 bookshelf or on the CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1 wiki.

  The Troubleshooting Guide, like the other guides are updated periodically. So please be sure to review the most current edition when the need arises.
