Hello,
I'm new to the TLMS product and, after going through some of the documentation, have a general question.
In a multi-system, multi-plex environment, how does TLMS maintain data integrity of its' catalog dataset (VMF?)?

Under best practices, one of the 'additional considerations' states:
- The sharing systems need not belong to the same SYSPLEX, and do not have to be at the same MVS level.
Do the sharing systems still need to be in the same GRS complex (or MIM equivalent)?

-Thanks

Peter,
Sorry, I should have responded earlier. TLMS uses RESERVE processing (ENQ/Reserve) to control access to the VMF across multiple systems. You can (optionally) use GRS or MIM to convert the RESERVE to a Global-Enq - BUT only if all systems sharing the VMF are within the GRS/Plex or MIM/Plex. If you have an LPAR outside of the GRS/Plex or MIM/Plex - then do NOT convert the reserve to a global-enqueue.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that GRS/MIM have to be in play.  If TLMS has its' own internal mechanism for managing multi-system updates within/outside a sysplex or something else entirely, please let me know.
-Thank you
